This premier outdoor living project in Highland Village, TX, was designed to make a bold statement in both scale and craftsmanship. Built on a second-story elevation in Texas, the homeowner wanted a space that felt expansive, custom, and connected to the natural surroundings, while still delivering a warm, rustic feel. The goal was to create an elevated retreat that could be enjoyed year-round, with the comfort and durability to match its size.
From a design and engineering standpoint, this project required careful planning at every stage. Rising approximately 30 to 35 feet above ground, the structure required significant reinforcement to ensure long-term stability and safety. As the design evolved throughout construction, our team adapted in real time, adding support where needed and maintaining alignment with the homeowner’s vision without compromising structural integrity.
The finished space features PBC composite decking, selected for its durability and comfort underfoot. Even in the Texas heat, the surface remains cool enough to walk on barefoot. Custom railing systems provide safety while preserving the view, and live-edge cedar accents introduce a raw, natural element that defines the project’s rustic character. Every material was chosen to balance performance with visual impact.
Completed over approximately 14 months, this was one of the larger and more complex builds we’ve taken on. It required close coordination, flexibility, and attention to detail from start to finish. The end result is a striking, elevated outdoor living space that feels grounded, functional, and built to last. Ready for your own outdoor living space? Get an estimate today!
