This luxury outdoor living project in Oak Point, TX, was anything but standard. The homeowner came to us with a clear vision: create a one-of-a-kind backyard that went beyond the typical deck-and-patio layout. This property required not only creativity in design, but serious problem-solving behind the scenes to ensure everything would perform long-term.

From the start, our approach focused on building a space that blended function, innovation, and bold design.

The project included a large-scale composite deck, a custom firepit area, and extensive metalwork highlighted by the use of corten steel to introduce a distinctive, modern edge to the landscape. We also created a unique “outdoor workstation,” complete with power access for laptops, allowing the space to serve both as a retreat and a productive environment. With over 3,500 square feet of concrete decking and more than 150 integrated lights, every detail was designed to elevate both usability and atmosphere.

One of the biggest challenges was structural. The existing pool deck lacked a proper concrete footer, which posed a risk of shifting and cracking over time. Our team engineered and poured new support to stabilize the entire area and prevent movement down the slope. Additionally, the project required a carefully designed drainage system beneath curved and arched sections of the deck.

Completed over roughly a year and more than 300 hours of hands-on work, this project demanded coordination across engineering, permitting, and on-site living conditions. Led by Project Manager Dustin and in collaboration with designer Zoe Nicks, the final result is a fully custom outdoor environment that delivers both form and function at a high level.
